Salt of the Earth

We played a show at Gilman St.
Then Danny brought us back to the Pillowfort!
We went to the beach at Santa Cruz.
We brought some beers and dug a hole.
Then we drank our beers down in that hole.
The ocean was cold and beautiful.
And I believe if there’s a heaven then I found it right there.
With the sun on my neck and the wind in my ears.
And I believe if there’s something after our impending world’s disaster.
Then I found it right here drinking these cold sandy beers.
We were stopped by a park ranger.
He took some notes and told us to pour out all our beers.
I was so drunk all I did was laugh.
But Mr. Murra nature’s gentle-person buried those beers under the sand.
And when the cop was gone we dug them up.
And I believe if there’s a heaven then I found it right there.
With the sun on my neck and the wind in my ears.
And I believe if there’s something after our impending world’s disaster.
Then I found it right here drinking these cold sandy beers.
And I believe if there’s a heaven then I found it right here.
When I sing you this song and some of you sing along.
And I believe if there’s something after our impending world’s disaster.
Then I found it right here with you my lovely dears.

Snowflakes & Cigarettes

Snowflakes and cigarettes on the first night that we met.
A long walk under the stars and swinging in Cope Park.
When you walk away I’ll touch the inside of my hand and wish that it was yours.
A grass ring around your finger beneath the fireflies.
Laying under the moon when darkness comes to soon.
And when you walk away I’ll touch the inside of my hand and wish that it was yours.
Snowflakes and cigarettes on the first night that we met.
A long walk under the stars and swinging in Cope Park.

Take Aim
04:08

I swing my arms out like a battle ax just trying to keep you warm.
We cut the forests and the old growth now the forests are all gone.
I send my love out like a lightning bolt.
Just like a matador chasing a bull in a ceramic store.
And there’s plastic in the ocean some say fifty fathoms wide.
That plastic in the ocean is going to choke us til we die.
There’s poison in the water and poison in the air.
In every mother’s breast milk.
In every infant’s hair.
Take aim.
I want to see a polar bear just running on some ice.
But just like all the glaciers they’re going, going, gone.
This ain’t no way to live and it ain’t no way to die.
There’s gotta be something more that we can do than cry.
So we sit and write some letters to congress and senators.
To tell them where we stand.
It does not work, we are not heard.
So we go into the streets like so many have before.
We yell and march and dance but the machine it keeps on.
Take aim.
I lay my head to dream hoping for some hope to hold.
I dream a polar bear she bites the head from a CEO.
And I dream 10,000 whales.
And I dream 1,000,000 squirrels.
And I dream 1,000 moose tell me to wake up and get to work.
Maybe someday I will meet you in a forest on this earth.
We’ll hold hands and embrace among the creatures who’ve returned.
Baby, then I’ll kiss you for all that you have done.
To tear apart this machine and make a living world.
Take aim!

Zombie Sing Along
Zombies ate my brain.
Now I’ve gone totally insane.
For a boy whose legs are as dead as mine.
With a smile that’s bloody and serpentine.
He bites my neck and I go cold.
He gores my throat I go for broke.
A zombie.
Yeah, oh yeah.
I’m in love with a zombie, the Zombies, ad nauseam.
